Skating And Charity – Billabong’s Design For Humanity Event Is Amazing

Often, snowboard and skate companies lend a helping hand to local non profits as well as charities. The skateboarding community has many groups dedicated to helping out the less fortunate. As an example, take the Tony Hawk Foundation, started by one of the innovators of the sport, Tony Hawk himself.
Recently Billabong held their yearly charity party called “Design For Humanity” at Paramount Studios in Los Angles, CA.
The purpose of this event was to raise funding and awareness for the Invisible Children’s Charity. The goal of the Invisible Children Charity is to create awareness and gather support to protest children being used as soldiers in Uganda. This was a cause a lot of people could get behind and support. The event is always a huge hit and this year’s was no exception. The New York Block Party theme was brilliantly executed, and the event was a great success.
