Safety should be your number 1 thought
1. Many injuries happen to people who don?ft wear eye protection. Everything from dust, splinters, dirt, and other debris can enter the eye and cause incredible amounts of damage. A pair of certified safety glasses costs around 5 dollars. How much is your eye sight worth?
2. Using the right tool for the job is another big one. How many times have you watched people open paint cans with a knife? There is a tool to unlock paint cans and you can find it in the same place where you purchase paint. This can usually be had for free when buying paint. Or how about a weed eater? Have you ever watched people trying to mow small bushes with them?
3. You should always look over your tools for damage before using them. A small break in a cord can lead to electrocution. If your power drill had gotten wet at anytime, it is possible for it to overload, catch fire, or cause electrocution.
4. Never neglect using the safety guards that is provided with your tools. Most jig saws have a guard in front of the blade in case your fingers accidently slip. If you are changing weedeater parts, be careful to replace the protection back properly to prevent stuff from coming up in your face.
